Amsterdam parties until 4 AM, still sinks Sydney
The Amsterdam Galleons proved once again that they are the wildest franchise in the GFL.
Using an ownership boon, Amsterdam sailed into Sydney harbor the night before its Week 3 game on an actual 17th-century sailing ship, throwing a massive fan event titled “Party on the Galleon with the Galleons.”
Only Amsterdam could party until 4 AM and still show up sharp for a 1 PM kickoff.
Quarterback Koen Van Daal played in midseason form, throwing for 312 yards, three touchdowns, and just one interception. Sydney tried to slow the Galleons’ pass rush by working the ball to the edges and leaning on a punishing run game, but too many missed chances piled up.
By the final whistle, Amsterdam had turned the late-night spectacle into a signature 28-14 road win.
