"The General" turns back the clock
After suffering a frightening back injury in Week 1 against Cape Town, there were real doubts about whether 51-year-old Seoul quarterback Kim Song Lee could make it through his 27th and final season.
Against Toronto in Week 3, “The General” made those fears look premature.
Song Lee returned to the field and dismantled the Frost defense, throwing three touchdowns without an interception. The most memorable play came on his feet, when he kept the ball on a 3-yard naked bootleg and slowly plunged into the end zone for his first rushing touchdown in five years.
The play reportedly took 4.5 seconds in real time, but Seoul fans hardly minded.
Toronto never recovered, managing only 310 yards of offense and a lone field goal while Seoul cruised to an emotional 28-3 victory.
