Devils Burn Bright While the League Adjusts

What a way to open the season at the Purgatory Pit. The Los Angeles Devils burned the Paris Revolution in a dominant 38-16 blowout and made an early statement about the pace this roster wants to play with.

The no-huddle offense made the aging Parisian defense look completely overmatched against Los Angeles speed. Left-handed quarterback Rodrigo Martinez was surgical all night, finishing 36 for 48 for 418 yards, throwing four touchdowns, and rushing for a fifth.

Around the League

The biggest shockwave of Week 1 came out of Seoul, where the White Tigers lost their 51-year-old legendary quarterback, “The General” Kim Song Lee, to a back injury in a 17-13 loss to Cape Town.

Elsewhere, rookie phenom Ignacio Lorenzo led the Buenos Aires Condors to a massive 49-13 win over the Chicago Wolves with 480 passing yards, while defending MVP Daichi Yokashi steered Tokyo to a 38-10 thrashing of Toronto.
