Week 6

at Amsterdam Galleons

Final

W 42-38

Game Summary

The Devils and Galleons combined for 80 points and over 1,000 yards of total offense in an absolute circus that saw LA emerge victorious.

Martinez Returns with a Miracle!

With Rodrigo Martinez back on the roster, the Devils engaged in a massive shootout against Koen Van Daal and the Galleons. Martinez was brilliant through the air, passing for 371 yards and four touchdowns. He consistently fed his favorite targets, with Casey Jackson racking up an incredible 195 yards and two touchdowns on just eight catches, while Anthony DeLuca hauled in 12 passes for 131 yards and two scores.

The game came down to the final two minutes with the Devils trailing 38-35. Facing a 3rd and 2, a counter pitch play broke down when the running back went the wrong way. Martinez improvised, tucking the ball, spinning out of an unblocked edge rusher’s grasp, breaking a cornerback’s tackle, and outracing the free safety for a 28-yard game-winning touchdown. Martinez ripped off his helmet and screamed “Soy ese tipo!” to the end zone cameras to seal the 42-38 victory.
