Week 8

at Chicago Wolves

Final

W 26-6

Game Summary

The Devils easily dismantled a toothless Chicago Wolves team that was forced to play without their injured star quarterback.

Devils Devour the Wolves!

Without Ryan Callahan under center, the Chicago Wolves could only muster two field goals against a stout Los Angeles defense. The Devils’ offense fired on all cylinders, using a dynamic rushing attack to control the pace of the game.

Rodrigo Martinez was a force on the ground once again, carrying the ball 18 times for 95 yards and a touchdown. The Devils kept the Chicago defense guessing, scoring a second touchdown on a speedy end-around by wide receiver Casey Jackson. Quarterback Marcus Boone was perfectly efficient, tossing a touchdown to the omnipresent Anthony DeLuca to cap off a comfortable 26-6 road win.

Around the League

Pure chaos erupted at the Iron Citadel as the Dublin Shamrocks shocked the Moscow Red Army 31-21 in a game marred by personal fouls, multiple ejections, and a massive brawl in the stands.

Meanwhile, the Tokyo Steel broke the hearts of the Seoul White Tigers 24-21; with 53 seconds left, Tokyo safety Hanjou Sasaki punched the ball loose from a Seoul receiver just shy of the goal line, sending it out of the end zone for a game-sealing touchback.
