vs Moscow Red Army

Final

L 17-22

Game Summary

In a hostile "black-out" prime-time game, the Devils' offense sputtered in the second half, leading to a 22-17 loss to the Red Army.

Moscow Survives the Purgatory Pit!

The Devils hosted the Red Army in a highly anticipated prime-time matchup featuring a complete stadium black-out and an intentionally botched Russian national anthem. Moscow played aggressively early on, jumping out to a 9-3 lead on four field goals. Just before halftime, Marcus Boone connected with Casey Jackson on a quick hitch-and-go that completely fooled Moscow safety Raskov Skorov, giving LA a 10-9 lead at the break.

In the second half, Moscow leaned on fullback Evgeny Karpov, who rumbled for a touchdown to retake the lead. The turning point occurred when Boone tried to force a pass that was intercepted by Skorov and returned for a back-breaking pick-six. Following the 22-17 Moscow victory, Skorov shockingly announced his retirement due to concussion concerns, praising the intense LA fans in his farewell press conference.
